1TB Freecom Hard Drive Classic - 3.5, External, USB2.0, Win & Mac (30723)

Works a treat - Bought this for my son to store all his stuff. Works a treat - no problems that he s mentioned (and he would mention them!)

Couldnt be better - Having bought smaller models (500GB) i knew this version would be just as good and i wasn t wrong. If you re not sure about it, don t be - its a great buy.

Does exactly what it says on the tin - Fast, reliable and cheap? Normally you get two out of three but with this drive it s a full score on all three. One terrabyte for 99 pounds? Seemed too good to be true given other drives for 500mb were around the GBP70 mark. I ve had this for about 2 months now, waiting to see how reliable it was before sharing a review. It has been superb, no issues at all, and with no drivers needed, it could not be easier to use. I use it for storage of high def video and backups of my 160GB laptop. A conversion to ntfs from fat took about 5 minutes with no issues at all (needed if you have very large files (eg video). I haven t been able to verify that I get full 480mbps throughput when writing large files from laptop/video camera to the drive, but I ve no complaints about the speed. I am impressed with this drive and will be ordering another identical drive so that I can use synctoy (free from Microsoft website) to have a mirror copy of my backup drive. Even though this has been superbly reliable (no bad sectors etc), I m not willing to take a chance with videos/backups as a single point of failure. With the price drop to GBP 89, it s hard to see how this can be bettered.

Very Good So Far !! - Just had the hard drive for about a week now, and already in love with it. Reformatted to NTFS format. Actual Available space: 931GB (Kind of expected). This is my second Freecom Hard drive. Also have the 400GB Aluminium encased hard drive. I chose this model over the same priced Western Digital model (i currently own the 250GB MyBook), based on the reviews and my own personal experience with both brands.I think I made the right decision, though both brands have served me well. As soon as i got the hard drive I dumped the entire 400GB from my other freecom onto this one and happy to say no problems though it took a long time lol. This is my fifth external hard drive, so I think I have some experience lol (80GB, 250GB, 320GB, 400GB, and now 1TB. Brands include Toshiba, Lacie, Western Digital and Freecom). I currently have over 2TB in memory space and it keeps growing. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.Cheers
